Romanesque Research Award 2017
The European Center of the Romanesque (Europäisches Romanik Zentrum, ERZ) awards outstanding international research works on the field of Romanesque art and architecture. The award is donated by the Stiftung Saalesparkasse (Halle) and Mr Gerhard Mauch (Ludwigshafen).

Thietmar’s River Sail: Re-live the Journey of the Bishop
A fantastic project inspiriting medieval history will take place in Saxony-Anhalt this autumn. Bishop Thietmar of Merseburg - who laid the foundation of Merseburg Cathedral in 1015 - will be sailing the rivers Saale and Elbe from Merseburg to Magdeburg. The historical enactment will demonstrate a journey faithful to history and include a portrayal of historic events.

170 visitors followed the invitation to the Tourismustag Sachsen-Anhaltt on November 12th 2014 in the "Villa Heine" in Halberstadt. "Qualified employees and a healthy entrepreneurship in tourism" was the topic of this day, combining the Tourismustag Sachsen-Anhalt, Invistitions- und Marketinggesellschaft Sachsen-Anhalt GmbH (IMG), the Qualitätstag Sachsen-Anhalt des Toursimusverbandes Sachsen-Ahnalt e.V. and the Branchentag Sachsen-Anhalt des DEHOGA Landesverbandes Sachsen-Anhalt e.V. for the first time.
AR&PA Biennial of Heritage Restoration and Management
From the 13th to the 16th of November 2014, TRANSROMANICA and e-CREATE were presented at the AR&PA International Heritage Fair in Valladolid (Spain). Junta de Castilla y León hosted two exhibition booths and two presentations in order to show our international cooperation.
Council of Europe Cultural Routes Advisory Forum in Baku on 30th and 31st October 2014
The 2014 Council of Europe Cultural Routes Advisory Forum was co-organised by the Ministry for Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Council of Europe Enlarged Partial Agreement on Cultural Routes (EPA) and the European Institute of Cultural Routes (EICR). The event was opened by the Minister for Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Abulfas Garayev, and the Council of Europe’s Director General of Democracy, Snežana Samardžić-Marković. Deputy Minister, Sevda Mammadaliyeva, gave the closing speech of the Forum.
e-CREATE Final Conference
The Final Conference of the EU-project e-CREATE took place on September 11th and 12th in Magdeburg. Approximately 100 participants from all over Europe came together at the Gesellschaftshaus to review the three-year project term and to talk about the results and effects of e-CREATE.

Romanesque Day in Saxony-Anhalt

This year's Romanesque Day in Saxony-Anhalt followed the theme "BEHIND HISTORY-CHARGED WALLS". On 31 May visitors were able to expect a colourful programme including guided tours, special events, music, and a virtual journey along the TRANSROMANICA.
Summer School "Romanesque Village Churches" in Merseburg
On 23 April the summer school "Romanesque Village Churches" started in Merseburg (Saxony-Anhalt).
The seminar was hosted by the European Romanesque Center and funded by the TRANSROMANICA Association.
It contained a guided tour through Merseburg Cathedral as well as numerous lectures and presentations.
e-CREATivE @ The Romanesque Road and in the regional representation of Saxony-Anhalt in Brussels
On the 12th of November the project informed about its activities in Brussels. The showcase highlighted best practice examples from the participating regions in Europe.

e-CREATE: Mid-Term Conference in Katowice (Poland)
From 30 September to 2 October 2013 the three-day mid-term conference of the EU project e-CREATE took place in Upper Silesia.
e-CREATE: Interregional Capacity Building Workshop in Donegal (Ireland)
The second interregional capacity building workshop of the e-CREATE project took place in Donegal (Ireland) on 12 and 13 June 2013. e-CREATE project partners as well as representatives of tourism organisations and IT service providers met in order to learn more on modern destination management and the use of ICT in rural tourism during a 2-days seminar.

First Meeting of the Council of Europe certified Cultural Routes
On 28 March 2013 TRANSROMANICA participated in the first meeting of the Cultural Routes Managers at the Council of Europe's offices in Brussels. Aim of the meeting was to discuss future activities of the network and possible cooperations between the routes.

This years edition of the guest magazine "Faszination Straße der Romanik", which has been published annualy since the year 2000, is fully characterized by the 20th anniversary of the Romanesque Road.

The Tourism Marketing Saxony-Anhalt Inc. has published a very special tour guide in February 2013 for the third time: "Destination Culture - Journey Through The German Middle Ages" shows visitors in Germany where and how medieval times can still be experienced today.
20 Years of Romanesque Road in Saxony-Anhalt
The Romanesque Road in Saxony-Anhalt belongs to Germany's most popular holiday routes and has been a part of the European Cultural Route TRANSROMANICA since 2003.
Linking 80 buildings in 65 places the Romanesque Road runs through Saxony-Anhalt in the shape of an "eight". The provincial capital Magdeburg is the intersection point of the northern and southern route and thus a good starting point for discovery tours.
