Ev. Parish Church St. Ulrici to Sangerhausen – Sangerhausen

In fulfilment of a vow taken by the Thuringian landgrave Ludwig the Jumper, St Ulrici church was built on the site of the duke’s chapel on the feudal demesne. The interior of the Romanesque core structure can be traced back to the 12th century on the evidence of such progressive stylistic features as cross pillars, arcade supports and front layers for vaults.
