2020 is a year of challenges and risk – and it is a year of adaption and experimentation. Facing the circumstances brought by the COVID-19 health crisis, the organizers of the AR&PA Iberian Biennial of Cultural Heritage – the Junta de Castilla y León – dared the leap of transforming the long established meeting point and discussion forum into a fully digital edition.
Featuring the theme „Resilience of Cultural Heritage“, AR&PA 2.0 was launched on 26 November 2020 and opened its virtual doors for three days.
Well-known elements of AR&PA such as AR&PA Fair, AR&PA Forum, AR&PA Innovation and AR&PA Prizes could be incorporated into the new formate.
The success speaks for itself: More than 3.000 unique visitors contributed to more than 40.000 site visits, explored more than 120 exhibition stands and followed more than 50 presentations. With more than 1.500 registered professionals, AR&PA 2.0 was able to maintain its position as a networking hub and reflection forum in the field of management of cultural heritage.
The Junta de Castilla y León arranged for a presence of TRANSROMANICA on the exhibition grounds with a great fair appearance to be explored by the professional and public visitors.
The Rota do Românico was not only represented through an exhibition stand at the AR&PA Fair including own workshops and presentations; its director Dr. Rosário Machado was also one of the 70 speakers in several interventions of the AR&PA Forum.
