TRANSROMANICA member “Centre d’Etudes des Patrimoines Culturels en Charolais-Brionnais” (CEP) which is based in Saint-Christophe-en-Brionnais organized this exhibition in collaboration with the Belgian association ”Lieux-Communs”, a non-profit association based in Namur.

In and around 11 Romanesque churches and chapels in the region of Brionnais and Perrecy-les-Forges visitors can explore the conflation of Romanesque architecture and contemporary art. The works of artists coming from all over Europe are presented in these medieval heritage sites and settings while respecting the churches as they are: places for prayers, believe and peace but also places of history, commonalities and local inheritance.

A French speaking leaflet containing detailed information on the artists, their work and the exhibition venues is available for download here.

The contemporary art exhibition in the Romanesque churches of Brionnais and Perrecy-les-Forges is open from 19th June to 19th September 2021 with free admission every day from 10.00 am until 06.00 pm.
